Description

This is a barn located to the rear of Hillhouse Farm House, likely built in the late 17th century or the first half of the 18th century, incorporating some timber from the 14th century. The barn is timber framed and sits on a brick and stone plinth, with weatherboard cladding and a plain tiled roof. It consists of three framed bays with central opposing entries. The roof features a queen strut clasped purlin design with heavy bracing. In the central bay, there is a large tie-beam and braces that have been reused. At the time of inspection, the barn was in a state of dereliction.
