Description

No 11 Church Street and No 1 Mint Street are two houses that have been converted into offices. No 11 dates from the early to mid-17th century and has been altered, while No 1 Mint Street is from the early 19th century. No 11 features a timber frame with painted brick and wattle and daub infill, and its front is rendered. In contrast, No 1 Mint Street is constructed of red and blotched grey brick in Flemish bond, topped with plain tile roofs.

No 11 is two storeys high and consists of one bay, likely the right-hand end of a larger range that has been largely rebuilt. No 1 Mint Street, which projects to the rear right, is also two storeys tall and has three bays. The first-floor office extends over No 11's Church Street elevation. To the right, there are steps leading up to a door with four panes over a panel, framed with an architrave. A 20th-century shop window is present, and the first floor jetties out, featuring a 19th-century four-pane sash window in a flush wood architrave.

On the right return of No 11, there is square-panelled timber framing on the first floor, with double-curved braces and a three-light window to the right, set in a gable that has raking braces and curved braces at the apex collar. No 1 Mint Street has a board door to the right of the left bay and a three-light window to its left on each floor, with the rest being blind. A tall brick ridge stack is located on the left. At the rear of No 11, there is a likely 18th-century wing on the right, which has been altered, and a 20th-century wing on the left that is not of special interest.

Inside No 11, the ground floor features a rear-wall fireplace with a shaped timber lintel and a small door to its right. Some old chamfered joists and broad floorboards are visible.
