Description
Bridget's Lea is a house that has remnants of an early 16th-century hall, with a later 16th-century extension at the rear left and a 17th-century extension across the rear right. The front was refaced in the late 18th century when the building's plan was made square. It features a timber frame that is exposed on the left-hand return front, with brick infill, and red/brown brick cladding on the front, right-hand return front, and rear. The house has plain tiled hipped roofs and stands two storeys high, with a large offset stack on the right-hand return front and another stack at the rear. There are three diamond-pane windows on the first floor and three windows on the ground floor. To the left of centre, there is a six-panel door. The left-hand return front reveals two jowled posts from the oldest part of the house. There is also a 20th-century extension to the left.
