Description

The barn at Wintershall is a late 16th-century structure that underwent modifications in the 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a stone and brick plinth, and is clad in weatherboarding with a hipped tiled roof. The barn consists of five bays, with a midrail and diagonal braces in the wall frame, jowled upright posts, and angled queenstruts. The end panels of the wall framing above the midrail display 18th-century framing, and it is likely that the roof was re-raftered during this period.
