Description
Keepers is a house dating from the early 16th century, with extensions added in the 16th and 17th centuries. It is timber framed with whitewashed render infill and has plain tiled roofs, hipped and with a gablet over the original range. The house follows a T-shaped plan, with the oldest section to the left, set at a right angle to the street. It is two storeys high, with three timber-framed bays on the front elevation. Bracing is visible on the first floor, with a central stack to the rear and a detached, offset stack on the left-hand return front. There are three windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor. A Tudor-style porch with double doors is located in the re-entrant angle of the wings. A wing of two or three timber-framed bays features jowled posts. Heavy bracing is visible on the rear elevation.
