Description
The wall and turret at Grafham Grange were built in 1854 by Henry Woodyer. They are constructed from sandstone blocks and rubble, topped with a plain tiled roof on the turret. The round turret is positioned to the right, with the wall extending to the left. The turret features brick corbelled eaves and a conical roof above. A moulded string course runs along the plinth, and there is a brick band at the ground floor level, along with brick-edged, chamfered breathers on both the first and ground floors. A stack is located to the right, and the eaves corbels alternate with small openings. The wall to the left includes a pointed gateway, which has a red and blue brick chamfered surround and brick-on-edge coping over a tile offset course. There is also a brick band at the impost height of the arch that extends as a bonding course. A window is located at the rear, where the turret meets the walls.
