Description
Lloyds Bank Limited is a tall, two-storey building opened in November 1931, designed by Guy Dawber and Wilson, and built by Mardon and Ball. It features an 18th-century character, constructed of brick on a stone plinth with stone dressings. The façade has five bays, with a projecting central section that is three bays wide, topped with a pediment and a panelled parapet on the sides. The ground floor is adorned with Doric pilasters made of brick, which have stone bases and caps, supporting an entablature at the first-floor level. The central entrance consists of an eight-panel door with a rectangular fanlight above. The central window on the first floor is arched, while the outer first-floor windows are fitted with wrought iron balconies. All the listed buildings on the east side of Castle Street form a group.
