Description
The Bear and Ragged Staff Inn is a building likely dating from the 17th century, which has been refaced with roughcast. It features a tiled roof and stands two storeys high with four windows. There are three 19th-century gabled dormers, and the north gable end displays timber-framing. At the south end, there is a tall one-storey wing that projects forward, featuring a half-hipped gable end facing The Street, also timber-framed. The lower part of this wing has one tall casement window. A tall brick stack is located to the right of the centre in the main north-south wing. This inn is part of a group of listed buildings on the northwest side of The Street, extending from The Bear and Ragged Staff Inn to No. 70, including Nos. 52 to 58 (even).
