Description

Old Yew Tree Cottage is a timber-framed building dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, with plaster infilling between the timbers. The ground floor has been rebuilt using red brick. The cottage is two storeys high, with an attic storey located at the left-hand end, where there is a gable clad in tiles. The roof has a half-hip at the right-hand end. It has casement windows, and a central brick stack. Behind the cottage are timber-ed outshots. The cottage forms a group with other listed buildings along the northwest side of The Street, from The Bear and Ragged Staff Inn to number 70, including numbers 52 to 58 (even).
