Description
70 The Street is a 18th-century, two-storey building featuring two window bays and a central doorway. The front is made of brick, resting on a base of ironstone rubble, with a low, irregular stone plinth. It has a tiled gabled roof with a brick stack at the right-hand end, and there are traces of timber-framing in the right-hand gable end. The windows are two-light casements with small panes; the upper ones are smaller and have even smaller panes, while the lower ones have segmental heads. The doorway is also segmental headed and features a ledged door. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the northwest side of The Street, extending from The Bear and Ragged Staff Inn to No. 70, including Nos. 52 to 58 (even).
