Description
Heath Edge and The Cottage is a long, two-story building dating from the 17th century, with a through passage dividing it. The section to the north of the passage is known as "The Cottage." In the 19th century, a front range was added to the south side, and a more recent wing extends to the rear. The original part of the building is visible and comprises two storeys, with two windows. It features a wide, hipped cross-gable to the right and a small gabled dormer above the passage on the left. The roof is tiled, with tile hanging on the first floor and red brick and rubble stone at ground level, revealing stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops internally. The 19th-century front range is of two storeys and an attic, with three bays. It has banded tile hanging above a red brick base, and a tiled roof with three hipped dormers. The windows are one-bar casement types.
