Description

Nos. 1A and 1B, Park Row, are a small 18th-century cottage. They were originally listed together with the Nelson's Arms Public House, and were formerly listed under Castle Street. The cottage is two storeys high and has four window bays. It has a colour-washed brick facade, a tile roof, and a dentil eaves cornice. The first-floor windows are centrally placed, and the ground-floor windows are five panes wide, with the outer first-floor windows being three panes wide. The doorways have triangular pediments supported by cut scroll brackets. The building was converted for use as a public lavatory.

The building, along with Nos. 3 and 5 Park Row, Sheffield’s Yard, and the Windsor Almshouses (including the wall behind), form a group of buildings of group value.
