Description
Ardenrun Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century, which has been extended to the left and rear in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed core with whitewashed brick cladding at the bottom and diamond-pattern tile hanging above. The roof is plain tiled with an end ridge stack located to the right. The cottage is two storeys high, with a brick dentil band over the ground floor that incorporates blue headers. On the first floor, there are four casement windows, and on the ground floor to the left, there is a 20th-century bow window supported by brackets. A planked door is positioned to the right, sheltered by a flat porch hood that rests on carved brackets and braces. There is a wing extending at a right angle to the rear right of the cottage. Inside, some of the framing is visible, and the building was undergoing restoration at the time of the re-survey.
