Description
Yew Tree Barn is a barn that likely dates from the second half of the 17th century and has been altered over time. It features a timber frame with weatherboard cladding set on a later brick plinth and has a plain tile roof. The barn has opposing central cart entries, with the front entry having a double board door and the rear entry being lower and boarded across. Inside, the timber frame includes wide rectangular panels with later infilling studs, a sole-plate, a mid-rail, jowelled wall posts with long braces leading to the eaves plate and tie-beams. The roof structure consists of raked queen strut trusses with clasped through purlins, along with later reinforcing struts and purlins, and old rafters.
