Description
The Mill House and Mill Cottage, formerly known as Lake & Hedgecourt Cottages, is a house dating from the early 17th century that has been restored and extended to the left in the 20th century. It features a timber frame set on a rendered plinth, with red and blue brick cladding below and diamond pattern tile hanging above. The roof is plain tiled, hipped to the left, and steps down and sets back to the left, with a ridge stack located to the left of center and a rear stack to the right. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a gable front cross wing to the right. The original house has four casement windows across the first floor, while the extension has one leaded casement window on the first floor. A planked 20th-century door is located to the left in the re-entrant angle between the extension and the old house, with a flat-roofed porch supported by an iron balcony.
