Description

Knoll Barn is a barn dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with modifications made in the 19th century. It is constructed from timber-frame and rubble, with weatherboarding and a plain tile roof. The barn consists of three structural bays, and it originally had a cart entrance in the central bay, which was blocked in the 19th century with softwood framing. There is a gabled loft entry to the right, and the right gable is built from rubble.

The framing features square panels, raking strut intermediate trusses, and queen struts to collars at the gables, along with a ridge piece and trenched purlins.
