Description
The Village Hall, west wing, was originally a house and is now part of the village hall. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone restoration and extensions in the 20th century. The building features a timber-frame construction with rendered infill set on a high rubble plinth, topped with a plain tile roof. There is a rubble end stack with a detached brick shaft on the right gable. The structure is 1 and a half storeys tall with cellars, and the attic is lit by two 20th-century gabled dormers. On the ground floor, there are two 20th-century metal casement windows, and the central entrance is accessed by a 20th-century flight of steps, which has weathering over the ground floor. To the left of the entrance, there is a cellar door. The framing consists of three structural bays with rectangular framing, three panels high to the wall-plate, and some 20th-century patching and repairs. The left and right gables feature roof trusses with three queen struts and V struts in the apex. The 20th-century extensions to the left and rear are not included in this description.
