Description

Knoll Cottage is a cottage that dates back to the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick infill and a plain tile roof. There is a detached brick chimney on a rubble stack with an oven located at the right gable. The cottage is two storeys high and consists of two structural bays, with irregular window placements, primarily featuring 20th-century casements. To the left, there is a gabled brick porch, and to the left of the main structure, there is a one-and-a-half storey timber-framed bay supported by straight tension braces. At the rear, there is an 18th-century brick wing that includes small scantling timberwork. The framing consists of square panels arranged four high to the wall-plate.
