Description

This is a pair of commemorative urns designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, created in 1929. They are made of stone and sit on a plinth featuring a recessed entablature, similar to that found on nearby lodges. Each urn is formalized and is set upon a laurel wreath. The urns are inscribed with the words, "Donation of Meadows to the Nation in memory of Urban Hanlon Broughton 1857-1929 by his widow and two sons." They were dedicated on 18 December 1929.
