Description

The commemorative urns at the north end of Runnymede Meadows were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1929. Each urn is made of stone and sits on a plinth featuring a recessed entablature, similar to those found on the nearby lodges. The urns are topped with a formalized stone urn resting on a laurel wreath. The inscription reads, "Donation of Meadows to the Nation in memory of Urban Hanlon Broughton 1857-1929 by his widow and two sons. Dedicated 18 December 1929."
