Boat House At North End Of Runnymede Meadows Between Windsor Road And River Thames

The boat house, located at the north end of Runnymede Meadows between Windsor Road and the River Thames, dates from the mid-19th century and is currently owned by Shoreditch College. It features a ground floor made of yellow stock brick and a roof covered with interlocking Victorian tiles, gabled at the river end and hipped at the other end. The building has a rectangular plan with two storeys. The boat house includes a timber lintel with a red brick relieving arch. The east wall is divided into eight bays by brick piers, each with a brick ventilator pattern, while the west elevation is similar but has five windows. At the south end, there is a gabled roof dormer window supported by corbelled brick cheeks, along with a sash window and grille.
