Description

Monks Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been restored. It is timber framed, with rendered cladding below a tile hung upper section, some of which is in a diamond pattern. The roof is tiled, with a stack positioned towards the rear right. The cottage has two storeys, featuring three 19th-century casement windows on the first floor and a 19th-century angle bay window with a flat roof on the ground floor to the right. A planked door is located towards the right end, sheltered by a gabled porch hood supported by wooden braces. The left-hand return front displays a tile hung gable with some exposed timber framing of thin scantling.

Inside, some timber framing of thin scantling is visible, along with a deep brick fireplace with a wooden lintel.
