Description

Merstham Garage is a former row of cottages built in 1796. The building has two storeys and features five windows in total. The northernmost bay is constructed from coursed chalk blocks with red brick dressings and quoins, while the rest of the structure is made of red brick in Flemish bond, with blue headers in the southernmost bay. The south end is weatherboarded, and the rear wall is blank and finished in stucco. The roof is tiled. The windows include some sash types with glazing bars and some modern casements with small panes. Merstham Garage, along with The White Cottage, York Cottages, The Gables, and Home Cottage, forms a group, although The White Cottage and York Cottages are of local interest only.
