Description

1 High Street is a former public house known as the Cottage of Content. This building dates from the 17th century or earlier and has undergone alterations over time. It is two storeys tall with three windows. The high-pitched roof has been renewed with Welsh slate and features decorative ridge tiles and end chimneys. The walls are stuccoed from the early 19th century. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with glazing bars dating from around 1800, one of which has a flattened ogee head and decorative glazing. The ground floor has a projecting public house front that likely dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. At the back, there is a long catslide roof. Inside, the building features substantial ceiling beams.
