Description

The Pines is an early to mid 18th-century building that has undergone significant alterations. It features a rendered exterior and a modern hipped tile roof. The structure is two storeys high, with an additional two-bay attic storey. The eaves cornice is rendered, and there is a parapet with recessed panels. The front facade includes five ranges of sash windows with glazing bars; the ground floor windows are cased, while one window on the first floor is blocked, and all have recessed panels below them. The entrance has a doorcase with fluted Tuscan columns, a pediment, and a five-panel door topped with an oblong fanlight.

To the west, there is a three-storey late 19th-century extension, and to the east, a one-storey early 19th-century extension. The rear elevation consists of three storeys and four ranges of sash windows, flanked by giant pilasters, with the two central pilasters truncated after the first floor. The building also features a moulded eaves cornice and parapet.

Inside, the top floor retains remnants of the original staircase, which has a closed string and turned balusters. On the ground floor, there is one panelled room that includes two round-arched cupboards with keystones, pilasters, and fielded panels.
