Description
Wolverton Park is an early to mid-18th century building that stands two storeys high with an attic. The front features five windows on the first floor, while there is a slightly older two-storey, two-window extension to the right. The building has a steeply pitched tiled roof with a dormer at the rear, which is partly slated. The exterior is made of coursed rubble with an ashlar band above the ground floor, and it has flat arches over late sash windows. A later Victorian porch with glazed tracery in the gable and cusped trusses adds to its character. To the left, there is a five-light rectangular bay, and the extension to the right has glazing bar sash windows. At the rear, there is an original two-light casement window and a County Fire Insurance Mark. A mid-19th century addition at the rear connects to a stable and features three storeys with two windows, constructed of red and brown bricks, topped with a brick modillion cornice and a slate roof. The first floor has two-light casement windows and a large three-light casement window to the right. Inside, there is a contemporary staircase from around 1720, featuring heavy turned balusters and a moulded handrail that rises by short flights within a central well.
