Description
The boundary railings to the former Lambeth Waterworks, located along the south side of Portsmouth Road in Thames Ditton, date from around 1852. The structure consists of a series of square brick piers, each measuring 2 square feet and standing 9 feet tall. These piers are connected by a low brick wall that is 3 feet 6 inches high, topped with cast iron railings that rise to 4 feet 6 inches. The railings extend across 25 bays, running west from the borough boundary and covering a total road frontage of approximately 175 metres.
