Description
The Former Chelsea Waterworks Fountain, built around 1858 by James Simpson for the Chelsea Waterworks Company, is an ornamental fountain located at Kingston University's Seething Wells Halls of Residence. It is possibly relocated from one of the original reservoirs. The fountain is constructed of stone and features a circular stone shaft that sits on a square plinth, supporting five concentric stone discs. The lowest disc has low crenellations, while the top disc is deeper and has a moulded cornice. The entire structure is set on a circular stone base with brick footings. In 1995, the fountain was integrated into the hall of residence complex.
