Description
The boundary railings and walls to the former Chelsea Waterworks were built around 1858. They consist of a series of stock brick panelled piers connected by a sill wall topped with stone coping. The cast iron railings feature lotus motifs on the uprights and a decorative horizontal rail with a series of pyramids. This boundary stretches from outside No. 85 Portsmouth Road to the boundary with the old Lambeth Water Works site, covering a total length of about 115 metres. In 1995, these structures served as the boundary for a Hall of Residence complex of Kingston University.
