Description
This is a barn located 100 yards southwest of South Weylands Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with 19th-century alterations and additions. It is constructed of whitewashed brick with red brick gable ends and has plain tiled roofs. The barn has an L-shaped plan, consisting of two barns at right angles to each other, linked by one bay in the re-entrant angle.
The barn on the right features five bays and a central weatherboarded gable entrance. Inside, there are 20th-century wood and cement block stalls on the ground floor, covered by a corrugated asbestos roof. The barn on the left is timber framed and encased in brick, also with five bays and central opposing entrance bays, although the rear entrance is now blocked and located under a gabled projection. This barn has 20th-century stalls on the ground floor and a catslide extension at the rear.
