Description

These are two lodges, built in the late 18th century, approximately 8 feet apart, serving as entrances to Esher Place. They are constructed of red brick with a rendered plinth and have slate roofs with brick stacks on the inner sides. The central portion of each lodge is two storeys high, while the outer portions are single-storey. Each lodge has three bays.

The east lodge features a plat band above the ground floor, which curves into an ogee arch over the central bay. It also has an eaves band with dentils that rises to form moulding on a projecting pediment, with smaller half-pediments over the outer bays. It has casement windows with diamond glazing, with two on the ground floor set within ogee arches. The central doorway is ogee arched, with diamond panelling and a glazed ogee head. A slate hip-roofed extension is attached to the right side of the east lodge. The west lodge has a projecting, slate-roofed, pedimented extension that was added in the 20th century.
