Description
This is a row of cottages dating from the late 18th century, with additions and alterations made in the 19th century. The construction is a mix of red and blue brick to the ends, brown brick to the centre, and tiled roofing to the right, slate to the centre and left. There are ridge stacks to the left and right of the centre, one to the right, an end stack to the left, and a rear stack to the right.
The left-hand section, Encott, is one storey with an attic, featuring three flat-roofed dormers. It has two casement windows on the ground floor, all with cambered heads. The central section has a glazed door, beneath a flat porch hood supported by wooden posts. Westeria and The Cottage sections have eight casement windows on the first floor, with cambered heads to the ground-floor windows. Westeria has a part-glazed door to the left, also under a flat hood on brackets, while The Cottage has a panelled, glazed upper-panel door to the right, with a flat porch hood on wooden supports. Force Cottage, at the right end, has a board band to the eaves, four casement windows and one blocked window to the first floor. It features a cambered-head window to the ground floor and a flat-roofed, 20th-century angle bay window to the left. A glazed door is set in a recessed area, with a pilaster strip surround and moulding above.
