Statue Approximately 4 Metres South Of South West Corner Of Kitchen Court

This statue, located approximately 4 meters south of the southwest corner of Kitchen Court, is likely from the late 19th or early 20th century and was created by the Andreoni studio of Rome. It is made of marble and features a finely carved depiction of a goddess dressing her hair, reminiscent of classical styles. The statue is mounted on a round marble pedestal that is decorated with swags and moulding. It is signed "Studio Andreoni Roma." The statue was probably placed here in the 1920s as part of Achille Duchene's work for the Ninth Duke of Marlborough. It forms a pair with another statue located approximately 4 meters south of the east end of the Orangery. This statue is included for its group value. Blenheim Park, where the statue is situated, is listed in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
