Description
The East Formal Garden features a fountain at its center, created around 1900-1910 by Waldo Storey. This fountain is made of marble and includes gilt bronze figures. It is supported by winged mermaids and dolphins, with a quatrefoil-shaped bowl that has winged putti around the edge and a woman holding a gilt crown in the center. The fountain serves as the centerpiece of the East Formal Gardens, which were designed by Achille Duchene for the Ninth Duke of Marlborough in 1908. Blenheim Park, where this garden is located, is registered as Grade I in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens.
