Description
The statue of wrestlers, created around 1700 by Massimiliano Soldani, is located in the southeast corner of the East Formal Garden at Blenheim. This bronze statue is mounted on a moulded limestone ashlar pedestal. The garden was designed by Achille Duchene for the Ninth Duke of Marlborough and is part of a set of four statues originally presented to the first Duke of Marlborough. Massimiliano Soldani was a prominent Florentine sculptor of his time. Blenheim Park is recognized in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
