Description
The stables, located approximately 40 meters to the east of The Old Rectory, date from the late 17th century to early 18th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone and marlstone rubble with wooden lintels and feature corrugated-asbestos roofs. The building consists of a three-bay main range and a two-bay lower range, both standing two stories tall.
The main range has a cart entry on the left, which has been converted into a stable door. On the first floor, there are triangular ventilation openings and two inserted windows. The lower range to the left includes a blocked segmental-arched doorway and a small leaded window. The right end wall features another cart entry, a loft door, and additional ventilation openings. The rear wall is made of banded limestone and marlstone. The roofs have gable parapets with moulded projecting kneelers. Inside, the principal roof timbers are still intact. This building is included for its group value.
