Description

This is a late 17th-century farmhouse, now a house, located in Snerford. It's built from squared coursed maristone rubble with some ashlar dressings, and has Stonesfield-slate and concrete plain-tile roofs, with ashlar gable stacks. The building is arranged in an L-shape. The front of the house features a single-storey wing projecting to the left, with a flat-arched entrance within its gable. The right wall of this wing has two renewed cross windows and a further entrance with a six-panel door. All of these openings are topped with stone flat arches and projecting keyblocks. The main range of the farmhouse has blocked stair windows, one of which is a two-light stone-mullioned window. To the extreme right is a blocked doorway with a chamfered surround, and a renewed cross window at the first floor level. All gables are topped with stone parapets and the main range extends to the right. The rear of the building has a similar blocked doorway, which would originally have been opposite the front doorway, and there are traces of a former four-window arrangement, now mostly blocked. The interior has not been inspected.
