Description
A group of six stone terms and a statue of four putti, located approximately 400 meters southeast of the south front of Blenheim Palace, were created in 1772 by Richard Hayward. The limestone terms represent Hecate, a bearded philosopher (likely Aristotle), Bacchus, Cicero, a fawn holding a sheep's head, and Hercules. These terms are arranged in a circle around a lead statue of the four putti. In the late 19th century, the Tenth Duke of Marlborough relocated them to their current position in an exedra of yew hedges, moving them from their original location in the arcades of the Great Hall at Blenheim Palace. Blenheim Park is listed in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
