Description

Isod's Farmhouse and the attached barns are located on the south side of Lyneham High Street. The farmhouse likely dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed limestone rubble and has a concrete tile roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The roadside features a gabled staircase projection at the center, with infilled openings on each floor to the right. On either side of a 20th-century plank door to the left, there are 20th-century casements with wooden lintels. There is a ridge stack to the right of the staircase projection and an integral end stack to the right, both of which have been rebuilt above moulded dripstones.

Attached to the right gable end of the farmhouse are barns that date from the late 18th century or early 19th century, positioned at right angles to the south on the west. These barns are also made of roughly coursed limestone rubble and have pantile roofs. Access to the garden front of the house and the interior of both the house and the farm buildings was not possible during the resurvey in August 1987. It is noted that the house is said to have 3-light casements and a datestone on the garden side.
