Description

This is a dovecote located approximately 65 meters southwest of Cornwell Manor. It is probably from the late 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. The structure is built from roughly coursed limestone rubble and features alternating angle quoins, topped with a pyramidal slate roof. It has a square plan and is a single storey building.

Each side of the dovecote, except for the west side, has a small rectangular chamfered window. The west side features a recessed boarded door with a stone lintel, which is accessed by steps. There is also a segmental-headed doorway at ground level on the east side.

An ornamental wooden lantern is present, which has two tiers of pigeon nesting holes and ledges on each side, along with carved decoration beneath a double pyramid cap that is topped with a finial.
