Description
Swanhall Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof, with a mid-19th century brick stack on the right end. The cottage has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. A 20th-century hipped stone slate hood covers the 20th-century door. Timber lintels are found over the 20th-century casements, except for the 19th-century three-light casements located in the left bay. The cottage also has gabled roof dormers with 20th-century casements. To the right, there is a small one-storey service bay made of similar materials, featuring a plank door. A 20th-century extension has been added to the rear. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
