Description
The former stables, located approximately 15 meters southwest of Windmill House, are disused and likely date from the early to mid-17th century, with some minor later additions and alterations. The structure is built from roughly coursed limestone rubble and has a stone slate roof. It is one storey high with an attic. There are four doorways: two on the left under plain stone lintels, one to the right of center with a wooden lintel, and the rightmost doorway is mutilated. To the right of the two left doorways, there is a roundel. The building features two eaves hatches, one with a gabled roof on the left and the other flat-roofed on the right. A later lower gabled addition is attached to the right gable end. A datestone marked "HC/..3." is located on the left gable end. Inside, there are chamfered cross-beams and joists, although the floors have been removed. The roof is a double-purlin type with five bays, featuring slightly curved principals from the tie-beams and collars.
