Description

Prospect House is a house dating from the middle to late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble, with a stone slate roof. The house has two storeys and originally had three windows, now with late 20th-century plastic-framed casements. These windows are in 18th-century openings, with segmental heads on the ground floor and directly below the eaves on the first floor. A central entrance has a three-panel door. Integral end stacks are present; the right-hand stack has a rebuilt top in red brick. The interior features chamfered and boxed spine beams in the ground-floor rooms, and oak winder staircases are located in the rear corners. A two-storey rendered addition to the rear is not considered to be of special architectural interest.
