EYNSHAM SP31SE 3/108 Eynsham Hall, wall enclosing 03/09/81 part of forecourt approx. 60m. NNW of porch

GV II

Wall. 1904-8 by Sir Ernest George. Squared and coursed grey limestone with ruddy-coloured limestone to balustrade and detailing. L-shaped. Jacobean-style balustrade with plain ashlar piers surmounted by lead urns. Blocked ashlar pier to front entry, with moulded plinth and entablature, and bowl-shaped finial with acanthus-leaf carving surmounted by openwork pyramidal finial. Ashlar pier with similar finial to side entry. Included for group value.
