Description

This is an early 17th-century farmhouse, significantly altered in the late 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a gabled concrete tile roof, hipped on the right side, and an 18th-century brick stack at the left end. The original plan comprised two units, now presenting an irregular three-window front. The central doorway features a mid-19th century four-panelled door set within a moulded doorcase with a bracketed flat hood. Timber lintels are above a 20th-century two-light casement window to the left and the central door, while a label mould sits above a 17th-century four-light stone mullioned window to the left, and a rebated, flat-faced stone mullioned window with two lights, on the first floor to the right. A late 19th-century gabled roof dormer has been added. A hood mould protects a three-light ovolo-moulded stone mullioned window at the rear. The interior remains unexamined, but is likely to have features of interest.

Attached to the left of the farmhouse are stables and a granary block built of coursed limestone rubble, with a gabled stone slate roof. The stables have an ovolo-moulded plaque to the front, and timber lintels above the door and two windows at the rear. Stone steps lead up to a plank door in the left gable of the granary. Inside the granary, there are chamfered beams with run-out stops, a collar truss with butt purlins.
