Description
Curbridge Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with a mid to late 17th-century extension on the left side. It is constructed from uncoursed and coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof. The original 16th-century block has a stone ashlar end stack, while the ridge stack is made of stone finished in brick. The building has been extended to form a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a four-window range.
The entrance, located in the second bay from the left, features a 20th-century door with a stone slate gabled hood above it. To the right of the door is a medieval chamfered stone light that has been reset. The first floor includes 8-pane sash windows, and there are timber lintels above the windows on the ground floor, including a French window. The timber lintels are ovolo-moulded in the late 17th century style on the top left and brattished with Tudor roses above a partly blocked 16th-century opening on the top right. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to have chamfered beams and open fireplaces.
