Description

This is a house, now divided into two dwellings, likely dating from the early 17th century. It is situated on Church Street, Sutton Courtenay. The building has a rendered plinth and displays timber framing with painted brick infill. The roof is covered in old plain tiles, with a hipped section to the right and a brick ridge stack centrally located. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and consists of a four-bay range. There are two plank doors to the left of centre, and a six-panel door to the right. A three-light casement window with leaded lights is positioned to the left, and a two-light casement with leaded lights to the centre. A 19th-century square bay, with a lean-to roof, is located to the right of centre, and features a twelve-pane window. The first floor has Ipswich windows with carved wood pulvinated friezes to the left and right of centre. There are further two-light casements on the left and right of the facade. Cross-gables are situated to the left and right of centre, supported by double queen-post roof trusses. The truss on the left of centre has two-light casements. The interiors were not inspected.
