Description
The Wharf is a house built around 1913 by Walter Cave for Mrs. Asquith, possibly incorporating some earlier structure. It is constructed of red brick with random grey brick in English bond and features an old plain-tile hipped roof with brick internal stacks at the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a five-window range where the centre bay projects and is three storeys high. A 20th-century panelled door is located on the right return of the centre bay, topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of wood casements and wood mullion and transom windows, all fitted with leaded lights. The corners of the centre bay and the ends of the five-bay range have recessed quoining. There are two hipped full dormers on the left and right, each with two-light casements. Additionally, there are two-storey, single bay wings on the left and right, featuring parapetted flat roofs. The interior has not been inspected.
