Description

Number 1 is a farmhouse that dates back to the 16th century, with a cross-wing to the left likely added in the 17th century and alterations from the 18th century. The building is constructed of red brick featuring random flared headers and has a complex old plain-tile roof. There are stone stacks at both ends, with one at the right and another at the end of the cross-wing, which has two diagonally-set brick flues. The farmhouse has a single unit plan with the cross-wing at the left, and it is a single storey with an attic. The main façade has a two-window range, with the cross-wing also being a single storey and attic, positioned at right angles to the lane. A glazed door from the 20th century is located to the right, and the windows are irregularly placed C19 casements. The interior has not been inspected.

To the right of the farmhouse is an attached barn, probably from the 17th century, which features timber framing and weatherboarding, topped with a corrugated iron roof. This barn has a three-bay range with a doorway to the left. There is also an attached outbuilding to the right of the barn, likely also from the 17th century, constructed similarly with timber framing and weatherboarding, and a corrugated iron roof, forming another three-bay range. The interiors of both the barn and outbuilding have not been inspected.
