Description

This is a house, dated 1631, as indicated by the inscription on the oriel window at first floor level on the right side. It is likely constructed on a timber frame, finished with roughcast rendering. The roof is covered with old plain tiles, and there are brick stacks located at the rear left and right; the right stack has three diagonally-set flues. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window front. A nine-panel door is positioned to the right of the centre, surrounded by a wood egg-and-dart detail. The ground floor features a three-light mullion window in the centre, and a four-light mullion window to the left side, both with wood egg-and-dart surrounds. Flanking the left-hand window are smaller three-light mullion windows. A 20th-century angled bay window is located on the right side. The first floor has a four-light casement window on the left. Angled oriel windows, supported by carved brackets, are positioned on the centre and right, featuring wood mullion and transom windows with carved details and false gables above. A carved string course runs along the eaves. The roof has three cross-gables, decorated with carved bargeboards and finial drops. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of significant interest.
